Term 2 Week 9
From the Principal

As we progress through Term 2, I want to take a moment to celebrate the many meaningful activities and achievements across our school community.
Firstly, congratulations to the students who recently completed their sacraments. This is a significant spiritual milestone, and we commend them for the reverence and commitment shown during this special time in their faith journey. Thank you to our staff and parish team for their guidance and support.
Last week, a group of our students proudly represented the school in the mixed netball competition held in Stawell. It was a great day of teamwork, sportsmanship, and spirited play. Despite the chilly weather, our students gave it their all and showed great pride in wearing our school colours. Congratulations to the team A who won all their matches and now progress to the Regional competition.
We also continued our visits to the community, with students spending time with residents at both Coates Hostel and Kara Court aged care facilities. These visits offer a valuable opportunity for intergenerational connection, and it was heartwarming to see the joy and conversation shared between our students and the residents. Thank you to all involved in making these visits possible.
As the colder months set in, a reminder to ensure students are dressed appropriately for the weather. We encourage families to check that jumpers and jackets are clearly labelled.
Wishing everyone a warm and productive end to the term.
Warm regards,
Trinity

Coates Hostel Visit
The Grade 3 class recently visited Coates Hostel as part of a wellbeing initiative aimed at building connections and promoting positive experiences for both students and residents.
During the visit, the children took part in a variety of relaxing and engaging activities. They enjoyed colouring alongside the residents, working on word searches together, and reading books out loud. These activities encouraged quiet conversation, creativity, and mutual enjoyment.
The residents were pleased to have young visitors, and many shared stories and kind words with the children. For the students, it was a chance to practice their reading and social skills in a welcoming environment.
Both students and residents benefited from the time spent together, and the visit was a positive experience for all involved. Plans are already in place for similar visits in the future.

National Pyjama Day

Support foster kids with BIG dreams!
How Your Donation Helps kids in care
The aim of National Pyjama Day is to raise as many funds as possible for The Pyjama Foundation's Love of Learning Program which is offered to children in foster care.
Donations go towards providing children their very own special Pyjama Angel mentor who empowers them with learning, life skills and confidence to change the direction of their life.
Helping foster kids reach their full potential
Every classroom in Australia likely has a child who has experienced the care system.
These children face significant challenges—moving between homes, disrupted schooling, and the weight of uncertainty. But with the right support, they can thrive.
Without one-on-one mentoring, extra guidance, and stability, the odds are stacked against them.
They are less likely to complete Year 12, more likely to fall behind in literacy and numeracy, and are at greater risk of suspension or exclusion from school. Without a strong support system, their dreams can feel out of reach.
Wear your favourite pair of PJs on Thursday July 24th and help to raise vital funds to support children living in foster care.
School TV-Celebrating NAIDOC Week

NAIDOC week celebrates the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. It is celebrated by all Australians and is a great opportunity to recognise and learn more about the history and culture of Indigenous communities.
NAIDOC stands for National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee. Its origins can be traced back to the Aboriginal rights movement, when on Australia Day 1938, protestors marched through the streets of Sydney to highlight the status and treatment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians. Today, it is a week-long celebration held in July that consists of range of traditional and contemporary activities.
NAIDOC Week is an important event that helps build positive relationships between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people. It enables a deeper understanding of our differences and similarities and is a great opportunity for all Australians to eliminate bias and discrimination by reflecting and reconciling the wrongs of the past to facilitate hope and build a fairer future. Families are encouraged to join in and support young people in learning the significance of NAIDOC Week.
This Special Report offers suggestions on how families can celebrate NAIDOC Week together. We hope you take a moment to reflect on the information offered, and as always, we welcome your feedback. If this raises any concerns for you, a loved one or the wellbeing of your child, please seek medical or professional help.

No Gum at School

This is a reminder that chewing gum is not permitted at school. Gum can create messes on floors, desks, and under furniture, which are difficult to clean and distracting to others. By refraining from chewing gum, students help maintain a clean and respectful learning environment for everyone.
